Campus Wi-Fi firewall and VPN connection help
University, school and dorm networks can apply different rules to web browsing and VPN traffic. Start by identifying which connections are reachable and reviewing the network policy.
Why a VPN may fail on campus Wi-Fi
Fortinet and Palo Alto deployments can apply rules for protocols, destinations and applications. A failed WireGuard or OpenVPN connection alone does not reveal which rule is responsible.
What a browser can check
The free connection checker compares ordinary HTTPS requests with a control target. It can show selective timeouts or variable request durations. It cannot inspect firewall rules or test UDP VPN traffic.
Choose a connection with realistic expectations
PureFlow supports VLESS-Reality transport. Whether a connection works depends on local policies, reachable destinations and available nodes. Follow the rules of the network you use.
Frequently asked questions
Does a successful HTTPS check mean my VPN will connect?
No. Browser HTTPS and VPN traffic can follow different policies. The checker reports only the requests it actually sends.
Does this tool identify Fortinet or Palo Alto filtering?
No. It cannot identify a firewall vendor or inspect its configuration. Selective timeouts have several possible causes.
Do I need an account to check my connection?
No. The public checker runs after you press Start, and its results remain in the current tab.
